2018 F-150 Can See In The Dark
Apparently the 2018 Ford F-150 will be able to see and stop (attempt to atleast) for pedestrians in the dark. They don't really have a fancy name or anything for it yet I don't think. It'll be appearing in the next gen Fiesta in Europe and will be introduced to North American F-150s in 2018 along with the Mustang.
There's a radar in the bumper and a camera in the windshield that takes 30 snapshots every second. It looks for pedestrian shapes and reacts accordingly.
They've tested this by throwing life-sized dummies in front of the truck on closed tracks in the night time.
Once it comes standard... I wouldn't mind. Not really something I would pay for as an option though as it really comes down to you being alert.
