F150 Going Hybrid by 2020

Ford held a press conference and announced that they'll be making a $4.5 billion investment into the US manufacturing, the cancellation of it's assembly plant in Mexico, and their push towards Hybrid, Electric, and autonomous vehicles.

The press-release is actually really long so I'll post the link to it here:

If it wasn't for a Trump Administration we probably wouldn't see this happening, and to think the man isn't even in office yet, only JUST started moving into Washington.

But how many of you here think this was a response to Trump, or not?

Well that's the thing, Ford came out and said that this decision wasn't because of Trump or whatever, but just appears to be real convenient there doing this right after Trump said something about it.

I guess I can see how that is the case due to how the country is doing and how that current state primes a brand like Ford to bring back production. Combined with other things like innovations that reduces employee overhead costs.

Either this will be the greatest economic time for America with a Trump Administration or the worst with the country primed for an economic collapse.

It's gonna be interesting, now I see that he's telling German manufacturers that have plants in Mexico that if they continue to produce them there, they will have to pay a 35% tax to sell em' down in the US. Gonna be interesting to see how they proceed to deal with it.

Well one fact is they will have to make cuts somewhere along the line and pricing the product more where consumers will have to pick up on the tab might not be the answer. If there's anything they need to maintain its going to be buyer volume. So that takes us back to what I talked about with overhead costs.

In what other ways do you think they'll cut on overhead?
