Ford F-150 Diesel Engines

Ford has finally told us what engine is going in their first diesel powered f-150!
It's a 3.0-litre engine with 247bhp and 440lb ft of torque. It comes with 10-speed automatic gearbox and the estimated fuel efficiency rating is 30mpg for highway. The Drive goes into more detail about it: Ford F-150 Diesel Revealed, Packing 30 MPG and 11,400-LB Towing Capacity - The Drive

I'm glad they paired it with a transmission that will allow this engine to shine and offer some decent range of performance. Pick-ups have been kept away from CVT's but as time goes on we get closer to that happening. Hopefully Ford doesn't do it in future M.Y's

Not sure how accurate this is, but Driving says the diesel F-150 could get more than 9.5 L/100 km when it finally debuts this year. Some of this is attributed to the increased use of aluminium.

No one should be surprised about the range increase since they used aluminum dump 700 pounds which is a lot in the truck world. Some people building track cars could only dream of trimming that since after trimming a few hundred pounds it start to get very challenging.

Ford always satisfied me, we are very old ford customers we have been using for around 12 years, still we have some ford trucks which we are using for a service of tow truck near me, we are interested to buy a Ford 150 for our personal use, so will share here soon if we get the truck.
