Have You Met the New F-150 Raptor?

One year removed from its debut in Detroit, the 2017 Ford Raptor is officially official!

Debuting once again at the North American International Autoshow, Ford calls it the “toughest, smartest, most capable F-150 Raptor ever,” they forgot to add most potent as well. The blue team promising more than 411 hp and 434 lb-ft of twist. Final powertrain figures remain unnanounced for the time being.

FoMoCo did say that the Raptor would be making use of their brand sparkling new 10-speed autobox in the name of efficiency, naturally. They linked it up to a new 4WD, torque-on-demand transfer case which combines the best attributes of a clutch-driven, on-demand system with an old school mechanical-locking system. How or why they didn't say.

The Raptor apes Baja Trophy Trucks in appearance, but there is also some function baked in as well. Ford will be offering segment-exclusive beadlock wheels to better improve performance in low speed, off tarmac situations.

Further upping the performance ante Ford will offer shoppers an optional Torsen front diff for those looking to get more crawl-ability.

“F-150 Raptor means superior off-road capability, from rock crawling to sand running,” said Dave Pericak, Ford Performance global director. “With the addition of SuperCrew, F-150 Raptor customers can leave the pavement behind – without sacrificing comfort and space.”

Start getting excited boys and girls, the 2017 F-150 Raptor will be here by Fall 2016!

Just found a bit of news about the Raptor. For the low low price of $49.99, you too can own a Raptor F150. The LLego version that is. Ford came out with a 2017 Raptor F150 Lego Kit in Detroit. In it, you'll get 664 bricks that should make the actual truck, a trailer, a Ford Model A hot rod, and some shop items including a engine hoist, Christmas tree and a “crew of Ford workers to ensure top-quality work”.

Not sure what I was expecting but that doesn't look at that great IRL. If you want to start your kids onto the Ford path, I guess this would be a great Lego set for them.

I think it looks fabulous for being made of little plastic squares...

I know right, it has me thinking what it could look like dressed up like a Lincoln, too bad Ford/Lincoln don't do that anymore although there is some chance of it happening.
