Though the announcement was not made by Ford themselves, this was the conclusion CarScoops came to after piecing together what information they were provided at the automaker’s future product presentation.

In the coming years, Ford will have “North America’s freshest lineup” by 2020, a list the includes the Bronco and Mustang Shelby GT500. By that point, around 75% of their current lineup will be replaced and there’s even going to be an additional four new trucks and SUVs, one of which is the Ranger.

Also on the list is the new F-150, which should be introduced in 2020 following the F-Series Super Duty next year. We’re aware that a hybrid version of the F-150 is definitely coming at some point in the future because Ford is going “all-in on hybrids”. Perhaps the F-150 with a hybrid powertrain will be realised in the same year as its normal siblings.

Of course this won’t be a hybrid in the traditional sense as the battery will be used to power tools and other equipment. Similar to how you’d use a mobile generator, this one is just integrated into the vehicle.

Let’s hope we’ll hear more of Ford’s hybrid pickup before 2020.

Excited to see what boost to performance and efficiency the F150 will get with a hybrid set up. I wonder how exactly they are going to counterbalance the additional weight gain from the battery and electric motors.

Very soon we will be hearing about and seeing the next Ford Bronco. I think chances are high that it will too come with a hybrid powertrain. It helps that it will be the first concept that has come out ever since these hybrid announcements

I'm very curious what Ford will showcase with the "baby Bronco' as I think the NA market is in need of a true off road CUV. Some of the early teaser images around the new Bronco are pretty intriguing and I wasn't expecting Ford to be the first to release a Wrangler rival.
