Maple Leafs Centennial F-150 Now Sold In Toronto

What better way to celebrate the Toronto Maple Leafs’ Centennial Anniversary than with a 2017 Toronto Maple Leafs Centennial Edition F-150 XLT SuperCrew? Ford Canada has teamed up with 23 Toronto area dealerships to release the limited edition model, with only 400 vehicles going into production.

Mark Buzzell, president and CEO of Ford Canada, told; “We think Maple Leafs fans, and F-Series loyalists, will love this very exclusive truck that celebrates the long-standing partnership between two Canadian icons.”

A claim supported by the fact that Ford’s F-Series is Canada’s number one selling pickup truck for 51 years in a row. This year alone, ford has managed to sell 78,427 F150s in Canada and we still have a few more months before the year ends.

Though the Centennial Edition SuperCrews won’t be getting a performance boost of any kind, it will come with Maple Leaf specific features including unique badges on the tailgate and front side panels, Oxford White paint, tailgate panel striping, bespoke trailer hitch, front door laser-etched chrome footplates, front and rear floor mats with Maple Leaf stitching, and a Centennial Edition badge on center console.

On top of that, buyers will receive a certificate of authenticity signed by both the Toronto Maple Leafs president and head coach.

I'll never understand the need to purchase a special edition model when its performance has not been enhanced in any way. Just some decals and other aesthetic changes...

When you have such a high volume product it helps to do something different especially when people are so passionate about the base vehicle and then the special versions that relate to a specific interest.

I'm not a hockey fan, however, I find this limited edition model nice and smart. Limited editions can give a new birth to a forgotten model, so let it live.

Would be great if there was a more performance oriented Limited edition F-150. Nothing like the Raptor, but something special and capable. Maybe around the high 300 hp range.
