600HP Ford F-150 Can Be Affordable

The Drive did the math and those who want a 600 horsepower Ford F-150 for less than $40,000 can have their dreams fulfilled by Roush Performance.

Granted you won’t be getting additional luxury features like dual climate control, Sync 3 infotainment, and heated and cooled seats. The goal is to keep costs below $40,000 and to do that requires a donor base Ford F-150 XL with a 5.0-liter V-8 which starts at $28,525.

By itself, the 5.0-liter V-8 cranks out 385 horsepower and 387 lb-ft of torque. Add on one of two Roush Performance supercharger packages and the F-150 will be producing 600 or 650 horsepower.

On their site, the Phase 1 Ford F-150 Supercharger was listed for $7,209.99 and that will net owners 600 hp and 557 lb-ft of torque. Installation will take 14 hours by an advanced mechanic which will cost around $150 per hour. If you add tax and tip, that could come up to $2,500 in labour. The full cost of the supercharger and installation will set you back $9,709.99 on top of the F-150’s base price.

In total, the 600hp F-150 will cost $38,234.99 which is still a lot more affordable than a base Ford F-150 Raptor and Roush Performance will offer a three year or 36,000 mile warranty.

Does everything think this would this be a good way to spend around $9,709 or are there other areas you would rather put that money towards?

For $38k, with 3 years warranty, and 600hp you really can't go wrong. If power is you're thing and you're looking for a drag beast, definitely worth your time.

For someone that's long past the days of modifying their own vehicles, having the ability to drop nearly $10k and get that level of performance out of some package is invaluable. It also helps that this is coming from a Reputable brand, everyone knows Roush, if not, look no further than the mustang community.

I'd definitely go with this over anything, literally anything, Hennessey produces. Roush has a great name, never had any issues, warranty coverage, it doesn't get better.
